I would like to showcase below a doll that I made with great pleasure for a couple in England.
When you order a custom made doll, I need to know where the doll will be in your home. What does she need to match if anything and how will she be posed? I will share pictures with you as the doll is made. Here are some of the first pictures my customer received of "Jennifer".
My customers knew they wanted a purple dress with some hand embroidery on it. Here is a picture of the almost completed bodice, made of black velveteen.

I had to set Jennifer on a toy rocking horse to make sure her skirt would split and drape properly down the back. The lace on her dress is antique lace so her dress is truly one of a kind.
Customers always have some choice of hair colour and usually of style as well. Here, Jennifer is wearing a strawberry blond wig but my customers chose auburn for a final colour.
Below is Jennifer in England riding a beautiful antique reproduction horse called "Dolly". Such an appropriate name!! ‘Dolly’ is a dapple grey horse made by a retired craftsman. Here are my customer's very interesting remarks about "Dolly".
Dolly was made about 2-3 years ago but is a traditional horse made to very
exacting traditional methods. I wanted a horse on an ash wooden bow rocker
and searched for a long time to find one of the right quality. The company
originated in Essex and was called ‘Debonair Rocking Horses.’ Dolly was one of two horses left made by the owner, a really nice person. The other horse was made of chestnut and varnished in a natural finish… absolutely stunning although unfortunately already sold.. Dolly was slightly larger and an excellent piece of workmanship. All the tack is leather and made by the same people that do real horse bridles.

I was so glad to see that Jennifer is just the right size for Dolly. I would love a horse like Dolly but she looks very big. I'm sure she would need at least 5 feet of space for her rocker!
Jennifer is obviously very happy in her new home. This was one of my favourite ever custom orders. I have met so many wonderful people over the years! Thanks Chris and Julie!
