Look-Alike Dolls
I am often asked to make a doll that resembles a special person. Little girls aged 18 months to approx 10 years old  are my specialty. Quite often, look-alikes involve making a reproduction of that person's dress or costume usually using only a picture.

Look-alike dolls are highly individual so it is impossible to give a price without talking to the customer. They generally start at $400.00 usd up to $800.00 if the doll is very large or the clothing is time consuming.   Please e-mail or text a favourite picture of the child you would like the doll to look like.

I work from already existing molds so I turn down most requests because I do not have a mold that resembles your child.

Christening Baby and Doll

Picture
The christening dress on the baby is stunning. It is full of intricate embroidery and sequins. Since the doll is only 11 inches tall, it was impossible to find a fabric that would be in a correct proportion. I used a swiss voile and sewed sequins onto it.

One Year Old Baby and Doll

The look alike doll in both the Christening and the One Year old picture are only 11 inches tall.

Look-Alike from a vintage picture of a little girl from a very special performance.
This little girl looks to be blond in the original picture but the family says her hair was medium brown. She was about 5 years old and missing a front tooth. This doll is to be a very special birthday gift to commemorate a very happy memory!
This Look-Alike was made by modifying an Effner mold.

Sometimes when I get a request for a look alike doll, I have to turn the customer down because I just don't have a mold that really resembles their child. But in this case, I was able to come up with a mold that closely resembled the child in the picture. Often in pictures, it is the expression on the child's face as much as the features that makes the doll "look like" the child. Then I can often add or slightly change the poured doll to make it more like the picture. So the little doll in the picture below is going to be a gift for a very special Aunt Katherine!

The adorable set of dolls below were made to resemble the little cuties in the picture taken over 50 years ago.

I used Cindy Marchener Rolfe's molds of Oliver and Tippy to resemble Terri and her little brother.

The colours are off in this picture but as you can see, the little skirt is a pleated skirt and the collars of the two outfits are quite different.

The doll below  went to Texas to be a birthday present for the beautiful lady in the picture who is just turning 78! We hope she thinks it resembles her a bit!

The lady in the picture was 15 when the photo was taken. The doll is made to look as she might have looked when she was about 10-12.

Here she is, on her birthday, still a very beautiful lady!!

In 2012, I was honored to make a look-alike of the 2011 winner of the Miss Tiny America contest. Enjoy the pictures of Abbie and her doll. This doll was made from an Effner mold unmodified.

Chubba Doll as a Beautiful Baby Boy

The next set of pictures shows the head of a large 28" doll called Chubba. Her features were very similar to the little boy in the picture so I was able to reproduce a doll that matched the baby very closely. In this case, the customer just ordered the doll undressed as she intended to use the exact clothing the little boy is wearing. This is an excellent way to display very special clothing instead of storing it away somewhere.

Baby Girl with Vintage Dress

Picture
This little boy's grandma was going to dress the doll in the exact clothing the little boy is wearing in the picture.
In the four pictures below, I used the  Rupert mold of Baby Shay and and changed her eyes a bit as her features were close to the baby I was copying. In this case, the customer wanted the doll dressed in an exact replica of the vintage clothing (about 60 years old), the baby was wearing. This was a very challenging dress as it had smocking which I had never tried before. It also had little flying swallows which had to be made by hand. Sometimes it is hard to tell from a picture just how things were originally put together.

Paige Noelle

Picture
Paige Noelle
This is beautiful little Paige Noelle who is now a teenager. She gave me my very first chance to make a look-alike doll . Paige's Mom saw my "Faith" doll on my website and could "see" Paige when she looked at her. I used the "Faith" doll to resemble Paige and then copied her dress as closely as possible with some modifications as Faith was porcelain only to the elbow. Paige's Mom had me make 4 of these dolls and they arrived that year just in time for Christmas!!

Some time later, Paige was asked to be a flower girl at her big sister`s wedding. So again, Paige`s Mom asked me to make a doll that would be a Flower Girl Paige.
