One of my reproductions of JDK Hilda. Hilda is a German Baby produced in 1914 so if you had an antique Hilda, she is now over 100 years old! She is a well-loved baby for her sweet expression. I reproduced my Hilda by copying as closely as possible the Hilda on Mildred Seeley's famous Doll Plate series. The doll in the picture in the background is Mildred Seeley's antique doll. After making the dress, I gave it a tea bath to make it appear "old". I also had to hand embroider the flowers on as I couldn't find fabric anything like Hilda's original dress.
Hilda can be made in 16" 0r 24' but there are slight differences in their expression. The 16" Hilda is more babyish.
I am very honoured to have made a large Hilda baby for Marie Osmond!!
If you would like a Hilda custom dressed , please contact me at rosewoodcottageporcelaindolls@sasktel.net or text 3062407716 Of the almost 500 dolls that I have made, she would be in the top 5!!
The two 24" Hildas below are both custom made SOLD dolls.
The 24" Hilda above is not for sale. Once in awhile I have to make a doll for myself!! The 16" Hilda in the embroidered dress below is also from my personal collection. She is shown with a mohair wig I hand made for competition and also with just her painted hair.
The picture to the right and below is of a custom made Hilda.
