  My Composition Dolls
I have started a collection of vintage composition dolls from the 1920's to the 1940's. On this page I hope to post pictures and info on these beautiful old dolls. Occasionally there may be one for sale but mostly this page is just to share my love for these old babies.

ABOVE and BELOW:
Miracle on 34th Street Baby from 1946.
This is my favourite doll of all the vintage dolls that I own. She was made famous because she appeared in the movie, "Miracle on 34th Street" in 1947. She appears at the very end of the movie held by Natalie Wood. By the way, if you have never seen that movie, it is a MUST WATCH for you and your children at Christmas time. The 1996 version is really excellent.

My all original Miracle Baby in wonderful all original clothing.

In the slide show below, you can view all three of my MIracle Babies. The 22"original is in blue, the 28" doll in the pink coat was restored by Kristen Hopkins, the 24" doll in the white dress was restored by Sweet Potato Pie Nursery. Notice how the different styles of restoring change the look of the doll.
BELOW: A partial "gathering of the clan".

Below: 27" Miracle on 34th Street Doll restored by Kristen Hopkins. I made her the little pink jacket and hat just because I love those little coats on toddler dolls.

Below: 27" and 24" MIracle on 34th Street dolls restored in very different ways, one with a matte finish and the other with the authentic shine.

Very sweet Unmarked Doll
Was restored by Mark Hartley and dressed by his Mom. Although some of these dolls have no indication or markings for who made them, they are obviously from the same time period.

 Big 28" "Happy Doll"
Was restored by Mark Hartley. She can wear this marvelous "Lambie" outfit that was made for about an 18 month old baby. In my studio, she gets to sit between my two big teddies.

 Sayco Baby Doll
Biggest and most expensive doll in my collection and although not my personal favourite, perhaps the most rare. I would appreciate if anyone has ever owned or seen a doll like this, to please contact me. I have done extensive research and come up with nothing. I believe the doll is original but she was meticulously and beautifully dressed by her previous owner.

Baby Buttercup in Mint Condition, all original

All Original Buttercup Baby
Made by Horsman Doll Company in the 1930's
More pictures of this dolly when I get her dressed

My 24" and 18" "Puz Dolls
Made in Germany, all original, "Flirty" eyes. The larger of these two is one of my absolute favourites!! She has a head made of celluloid rather than composition and it is perfect. Both dolls have beautiful original glass eyes that are as clear as the day they were made.

Below, I will be adding my 1936 restored Effanbee "Sugar Baby" and my "Little Angel" Arranbee. Their heads have been restored by Mark Hartley. Please check my other new page in the menu to see my Dionne Quintuplet collection.
